Our students of grade IX along with activity in charge teachers created a compost pit as a part of British Council International School Award activity, in the school premises.
Students made nutrition-rich fertilizer with organic materials, such as kitchen scraps, shredded newspaper, coffee grounds, egg shells, grass clippings or fallen leaves. Then add a layer of manure, water etc..
In this activity students learned the benefits of compost like-
The amount of trash your school produces will be reduced.
Nutrients from composted food scraps are recycled back into your soils.
Composting can save money and turn unwanted materials into a useful product.
Composting offers numerous educational opportunities to promote sustainable environmental practices to your students.
Student and community awareness is awakened regarding recycling and waste reduction.
School pride and environmental stewardship is enhanced through positive contributions of conservation efforts.

With Pele’s inspirational quotes in our minds, we the students of class IX started our journey of ISA project on “Cyber Safety with the slogan – Stop, Think and Connect globally, which includes cyber bullying and cyber abuse. It was indeed a wonderful journey and exploring on cyber safety continues as students of class 9 from the department of Computer science.
With the increased use of technology, many of us are becoming targets of cyber bullying and cyber abuse, which is a major issue locally and globally. We wanted to get aware of these issues with help of our teachers and parents.
Parents and teachers are the one who guide us and protect us, hence we started this project to spread the awareness on these global issues.
The Mega Event (Safety Internet Day) was observed on 2nd Tuesday of February month, today we are here to present a Skit on Cyber Safety.
No one is immune to cyber bullying, including celebrities, athletes, politicians, and maybe even you. Cyber bullying is the use of technology to undertake deliberate, repeated behavior with the intent to cause harm. This can be done by an individual or group you may or may not know. Cyber bullying may involve ‘trolling’, abusive language, intimidation, threats and humiliation. It is challenging to prevent as most people have 24/7 direct access to mobile phones and the internet. It can occur outside of school and after hours. To bring the awareness among all of us we conducted following events in our school.
A workshop was conducted on cyber safety and cyber bullying by Cyber safety department of Telangana
We have done research on this global issue and presented a power point presentation on this global issue.
We made collage on cyber bullying and cyber abuse.
The ” Common guide lines on cyber safety were prepared in the form of posters and displayed on school wall boards and class wall boards.
The students of St. Peter’s High School Kompally – Hyderabad have conducted a few activities on the topic Avoid Climate Change- One Iceberg at a Time as part of the British council school award.
The students studied about climate change and conducted many studies. They shared their findings with the partner school- The New School Dhaka, Bangladesh via a Skype conference and a Scrap Book.
Students on both schools exchanged valuable information and data on the Historical Importance of Oceans, Use of Traditional Products in daily life and its effect to minimize sea level rise, Anthropogenic causes that accelerate sea level rise, loss of habitats and smothering of coral reefs. In addition, our students also interacted with the Social Scientist at the Pollution Control Board to gain a deeper understanding into this imminent threat.
Rivers are the origin of our Civilization. Rivers are lifeline for all life forms. Rivers are the origin of our civilization. They are the veins of the Earth through which life flows. India’s Rivers are depleting and we are responsible for it. since man’s life depends so much upon Rivers, it is his bounden duty to keep them in perfect health and pollution free.
A public awareness rally for ” saving Rivers” was organized on 12 the February2020, Wednesday by the students of St.Peter’s High School Kompally – Hyderabad. Twenty one students of Grade VIII B took part in the rally to promote awareness on the need for conservation of Rivers in India.
The rally was held in the nearby locality, it started from the school which was adjacent to St.Peters Engineering College, Maismmaguda. At the rally , the students walked along with slogans while chanting them with great vigour and enthusiasm. The slogans were of three different languages comprising Hindi, Telugu and English.
The students spread awareness on “SAVE WATER – SAVE LIFE” and restrict or deprivelitter in any water bodies. The respective teachers also took part in the rally .It was a successful event. A survey was conducted with the feedback taken in the end.

OUR ACTIONS ARE OUR FUTURE – RALLY CAMPAIGN AGAINST FOOD WASTE
As a part of British Council International School Award activity “Waste Not Want Not”, our students organised an outreach program where they marched from our school to the nearby, Gundalapochampally Government Primary School with play-cards and slogans to bring about awareness on food conservation and curbing its wastage.
The student had an interactive session both in regional language and English with the students of the Government School and expressed their opinions on why the food is important; why one has to stop food wastage and the death of infants due to want of food around the world. And also showed them a short film made by our students on importance of food and to stop food waste.

“Peterites ,the young warriors to combat Covid-19”.
As 21st Century educators St.Peters believes and instills the habbit of adaptability and empowerment among the students. The school conducted a young warrior programme which is partnered by CBSE,Yuwaah and UNICEF .It was a nationwide movement to engage 5 million youth to lead action against COVID-19 and its impact on 50 million people. The programme was conducted by the teachers who were trained by CBSE .This programme was scheduled weekly once for a period of five weeks, for grades 5 to 10 .This movement included sessions where children gave their messages through Art .The objectives of the programme helped students learn steps to combat virus, understand and navigate emotions through the pandemic, to promote right to information, to take care of their immediate surroundings and family members and to promote good health among the community.
St. Peter’s High School conducted a workshop for the students of grade 5 to 8 on CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation)
The resource person Ms. Naina Zakki Reddy a member of HOSA(Health Occupational students of America)demonstrated the life saving technique that’s useful in many emergencies such as a heart attack or near drowning in which someone’s breathing or heartbeat stops. This workshop was organized to educate the next generation heart savers in the society. Ms. Naina demonstrated CPR skills on a specimen. This workshop will not only equip students to help ,in an emergency but also will help our students to face any such crisis with confidence.
“Promoting Sustainability, Choosing Paper bags and forming a greener future collectively!”
Paper bag is renewable, recyclable, reusable, and compostable. To celebrate the worldwide Paper bag day and to sensitize our destiny generations to the effects of plastic on our environment, St.Peter’s high school, Kompally had organized Paper Bag Making competition, on 13th July 2023, in classes VI .The aim of this competition was to transfer, to the usage of green paper bags and to make the scholars privy to using paper luggage as a feasible option. This will make our mother Earth, plastic-free. Children used the desired decorative substances like news papers, vintage invitation cards, ribbons, synthetic flora, kundans and so forth and made beautiful paper bags with eye-catching slogans. This event was judged on the criteria of Creativity, Appearance, Use of Eco friendly Substances and Catchy Slogans. It was a treat to look at our young Peterites engrossed in their paper bag making as they literally transformed trash into treasure!

The entire fraternity at St. Peter’s High School in Kompally celebrated National Doctor’s Day with great joy and fulfillment.
To commemorate this day with cherished memories and the wholehearted support of our management, students from grade 6, along with a few teachers, visited Mallareddy Narayana Multispeciality Hospital, located in Suraram, to express our gratitude and pay tribute to the doctors for their commitment, selflessness, and expertise in saving lives and providing invaluable service to humanity.
Our team of students and teachers presented bouquets and thank-you cards to the doctors for their unwavering dedication and sacrifice. We would like to extend a special thanks to Mr. Mahender Pala, the Chief Operating Officer of Mallareddy Narayana Hospitals, for all the meticulous arrangements.
All the doctors were hailed as superheroes, setting an example for children and motivating them to pursue this noble and selfless profession in the future.
